A star-studded lineup for Brazil
The second half of 2024 is a thrilling time for music fans in Brazil, packed with international stars.
Just yesterday (Sep 19), Ne-Yo electrified a São Paulo venue.
Today, while Mariah Carey filled a stadium in São Paulo, Katy Perry performed at Rock in Rio and truly stole the show, captivating thousands with her vibrant energy.
An epic entrance

Katy made a jaw-dropping entrance, hanging upside down from steel cables, instantly surprising the audience.
She chose this monumental event to launch her new album, 143, with a live broadcast on Multishow, both on TV and online.
From the very first note, she had the crowd on their feet, performing hits like ‘California Gurls’, ‘Teenage Dream’, ‘Dark Horse’, ‘E.T.’, and ‘Bon Appétit’.
Captivating moments
Her set was a visual feast, featuring stunning costumes that showcased her signature style.

During ‘Swish Swish’, she brought a fan onstage, whose birthday is on the same day as hers (October 25) and together they created an infectious atmosphere with their playful choreography.
A standout moment came when Cyndi Lauper joined her for a heartfelt duet of the classic ‘Time after Time’, as the audience sang along passionately.

In a more intimate scene, Katy invited her guitarist and backing vocalists to join her for ‘The one that got away’, wrapped in a Brazilian flag, with the crowd singing every word.

Her gratitude shone through when she exclaimed “obrigada (thank you)”, prompting a chorus of “Katy, eu te amo (Katy, I love you)!”
High-energy hits
The energy ramped up as Katy had everyone singing and dancing to the upbeat ‘Tucked’.
With a humorous touch, she blew a kiss to her family – Orlando Bloom and their baby, Daisy – back home in the U.S., jokingly telling them to go to bed afterward.
She then took center stage, playing guitar and leading the crowd in ‘Hot n Cold’, before cranking up the excitement with ‘Last Friday night’.

However, it was ‘I kissed a girl’ that truly ignited the audience.
As the show neared its end, Katy kept the momentum going with ‘Roar’, dazzling everyone with vibrant colors and powerful vocals.
In a thrilling third outfit, she performed ‘Daisies’, followed by a quick change to keep the energy alive during ‘Wide awake’, introducing her dancers and band with flair.

Before her show, Katy visited Rio de Janeiro’s iconic Christ the Redeemer statue, capturing stunning photos.
